Have you ever winced when a cat crossed your path? A lil’ too tip toed on Friday the 13th?! If you thought you had issues with superstitions, just be glad that you’re not in the Philippines!


  • If the husband leaves the house after a quarrel, the wife should get his shirt, hang it over the stove, and whip it several times. The husband is certain to come back!
  • If it rains during the wedding, the couple will have many cry babies.
  • If a pregnant woman’s abdomen is pointed, it’s a baby boy. If its round, it’s a girl!
  • If a pregnant woman wants to avoid the unpleasant symptoms of pregnancy, she must step over her husband while he’s sleeping and all her symptoms will be transferred to him.
  • Pink eye can be cured either with breast milk or with the first urine in the morning.
  • If you open an umbrella indoors, a centipede will fall from the ceiling.
  • If you see a plastic bag flying in the air and you manage to catch it, it’ll make you strong.
  • A pregnant woman who eats twin bananas will give birth to twins. To prevent this, she must split the bananas behind her back.
  • If you eat too many onions, you’ll grow up to be a playboy/playgirl.
  • Stacking dirty dishes one on top of the other will lead to adultery.
  • Warts are caused by the urine of frogs.
  • Going to bed with wet hair causes blindness or insanity.
  • If a chicken walks in the rain, it stops raining.
  • If you bathe a cat, lightning will strike you.

Now, bathing isn't something that should be done spontaneously...

  • Don’t take a bath on a Friday.
  • Don’t take a bath in the afternoon.
  • Don’t take a bath in the evening.
  • Don’t take a bath on the first Friday.
  • Don’t take a bath on Good Friday.
  • Don’t take a bath on New Year’s Day.
  • Don’t take a bath on the feast day of St. Lazarus.
  • Don’t take a bath on the 13th day of every month.
  • Don’t take a bath when hungry.
  • Don’t take a bath after eating.
  • Don’t take a bath before gambling.
  • Don’t take a bath after going to church.
  • Don’t take a bath during holidays.
  • Don’t take a bath when there’s a rainbow.
  • Don’t take a bath during a full moon.

..and you thought you had issues.
